Various profiles corrugation are investigated; triangular, sinusoidal, or square-dot profiles, compared with uniform profile. Parameters such height, width, periodicity corrugations varied order optimize performances terms over large range frequencies, between 20 GHz 100 GHz. configuration considered reflective screen, when lossy slab covers metallic plate mimicking target. goal maintain below 10 dB, ensure up 95% absorption, angles 60°. Atomic-scale dielectric permittivity profiles in slabs and multilayers
A recently developed theory of atomic-scale local dielectric permittivity has been used to determine the position dependent permittivity profiles of a few nanoscale insulator surfaces and multilayers. Specifically, slabs containing single-component Si, polymer, and SiO2 and two-component Si-SiO2 and polymer-SiO2 systems of technological importance have been studied. The present approach indicat...
متن کاملDielectric behaviors of corrugated membranes
We have employed our recently developed Green’s function formalism to study the dielectric behavior of a model membrane, formed by two periodic interfaces separating two media of different dielectric constants. The Maxwell’s equations are converted into a surface integral equation; thus it greatly simplifies the solutions and yields accurate results for membranes of arbitrary shape. The integra...
متن کاملInvestigation of Wideband One-step Stair- Shaped Dielectric Resonator Antennas
The one-step stair-shaped dielectric resonator antennas (DRAs) with a circular cross-section are studied theoretically and experimentally in this paper. The reasons why the one-step stairshaped DRAs have a wideband performance have been investigated. It is shown in this paper that the modes excited in the one-step stairshaped DRA with circular cross-section can be regarded as pseudo HEM111 and ...

In this paper we present coplanar MMICs based on both, metamorphic (MHEMT) and pseudomorphic (PHEMT) high electron mobility transistor technologies. Starting with a modulator-driver MMIC for optical transmission systems, we describe state of the art MMICs like a 94 GHz low-noise amplifier, a 35 GHz and a 60 GHz medium power amplifier and finally we demonstrate the feasibility of a monolithicall...
متن کاملRadiation-Corrected Open-Ended Coax Line Technique for Dielectric Measurements of Liquids up to 20 GHz
An experimental technique and associated analysis are described for the measurement of the dielectric constants of liquids at microwave frequencies using an open-ended coax probe. The analysis includes radiative corrections to the probe-liquid interface impedance. The technique is applicable to liquid and liquidlike (e.g., biological) samples, having dielectric constants comparable to water, at...
